After more than 25 years, the legendary Diablo 2: Resurrected is getting a new update and with it a new class – the Warlock!
As part of Diablo Spotlight, Blizzard announced new content for Diablo 2, Immortal, and Diablo 4, among other things. The announcement about the legendary second installment, which has received a new class after more than 25 years, was particularly surprising. Blizzard probably surprised fans of the ARPG the most with “Reign of the Warlock,” as they not only announced a new class, but also released it in the same breath.
Part of the new DLC for Resurrected, the remaster of the game, is a new class: the Warlock. He can summon and control demons and draws his power directly from the fires of hell. There is also a new endgame challenge in which players can earn special consumable items. To do this, they must “terrorize” acts, which increases the difficulty level. The files also feature terrorized bosses who can reveal one of five mystical statues upon their demise. Combining all five unlocks a special boss battle that “pushes skills and builds to their limits.”
There was also an update on the “Lord of Hatred” DLC for Diablo 4, which will be released at the end of April. Not only will the witch doctor find his way into the second part, but he will also be the second new class for the fourth part, alongside the already released paladin. In Diablo 4, however, the class is interpreted somewhat differently. Here, it fights with iron chains, flames, and raw destructive power. In addition, there will be more systems and endgame activities. We will learn more here on March 5 when the development team provides an update.
Last but not least, there was also news about Diablo Immortal, the mobile offshoot of the franchise. The roadmap for the current year was presented, which includes Andariel, the Mistress of Torment. The Warlock will also make an appearance in Immortal, along with other new features.
