Diablo 4: Season Twelve Launches on March 11

On March 11, 2026, Diablo 4’s twelfth season, the “Season of Slaughter,” will begin—featuring an exciting collaboration!

As Blizzard Entertainment has announced, the twelfth season of Diablo 4, the “Season of Slaughter,” will launch on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. This marks a departure from Blizzard’s previous tradition of launching new seasons on Tuesdays. So, be sure to check your schedule and don’t expect the new season to start on Tuesday—only to find nothing there. The new season will focus entirely on the Butcher.

Our initial mission is to assist a demonologist in mastering his dark craft and thus prepare for Mephisto’s impending attack on Sanctuary. However, the ritual goes awry, and we gain the ability to transform into the Butcher. We can only partially control his thirst for carnage, and we indulge his desires. In doing so, we utilize his abilities and collect seasonal currency.

Furthermore, there will be an opportunity to try out the Paladin, one of the two new classes in the “Lord of Hatred” expansion, for free. From March 11th to March 18th, you can strike down your enemies with the Paladin’s righteous fury – but only up to level 25. Those who have already pre-ordered the expansion naturally have full access to this class.

Additionally, the next season will feature new Helltide events, perfectly suited to the Butcher’s vision. Killstreaks have also been reworked, so we now receive various rewards for them. Primarily experience points, but with Bloodstained items, we can find additional affixes that influence these killstreaks and unlock further potential.

But perhaps the most exciting aspect of the new season is the collaboration with DOOM: The Dark Ages. Cosmetic items inspired by the first-person shooter franchise will be available. These will include the chainsaw shield and other weapons from the Doomslayer.
