This year, Anno 117 is set to launch its first expansions, and we’ve compiled all the info we know so far!
Of course, there will also be expansions for Anno 177: Pax Romana, and they are set to launch later this year. So far, we know that the German building game will get three DLCs. However, there is no concrete information yet on exactly when we can expect the expansions. Instead, only the months in which the respective expansion is scheduled to be released are known. Similar to Anno 1800, there will be season passes again, but this time they will be called “Year Passes.”
As usual, the Year 1 Pass includes three DLCs, all of which are scheduled for release in 2026. Rough schedules for when this will happen are already in place. The names of the expansions are also already known.
Year 1 Pass
- Prophecies of Ash: April 2026
- The Hippodrome: August 2026
- Dawn of the Delta: November 2026
Prophecies of Ash
The first expansion will see the largest island ever featured in an Anno spin-off make its way into the game. It will be located in Latium, along with a few other islands. The huge island will also feature the volcano that gives it its name, which can erupt. How exactly this will be integrated into the gameplay remains to be seen. Last but not least, there will also be a new god named Vulcanus. The god of fire and blacksmiths will influence areas that have already been changed.
The Hippodrome
There isn’t much information available about the Hippodrome DLC yet. All we know is that the Hippodrome will be a new monument in the game and will probably be as complex to build as the Colosseum. After all, it is supposed to be one of the most impressive buildings in the history of the series. We will be able to hold various chariot races there, which will bring us new specialists and more prestige.
Dawn of the Delta
There is already a little more information available about the last expansion of the year, which most players are probably eagerly awaiting. The biggest new feature is a new province in the game, which, who would have thought, was inspired by Egypt. But instead of fertile lands and muddy swamps, we can expect barren desert regions with a fertile river delta. Of course, there will also be new inhabitants, each bringing their own goods with them. It will probably be possible to choose a path similar to that of the Celts.
There will also be new gods with their own effects appropriate for the region. Since there is also a new type of inhabitant, there will of course be new units that can be trained. We will probably find out exactly which ones these are as the release date approaches.
How much will the expansions cost?
Since there isn’t even a specific release date yet, we can only speculate at this point. However, the aforementioned Year 1 Pass, which costs 35 euros, provides an initial indication. The pass is part of the Gold Edition of Anno 117, but can also be purchased separately. The season passes for Anno 1800 cost €25. Accordingly, we can expect the individual expansions to also increase in price slightly.
