Fallout 4 offers enough content to fill several hundred hours – and a few cheats to make your adventure a little easier.
Fallout 4 is a true open-world RPG monster that can keep you entertained for several hundred hours. But the wasteland can be pretty brutal in places. Fortunately, there are a few cheats and console commands that you can use to make the wasteland easier or simply customize it to cause a little more chaos. We’ve compiled the most important commands for you, along with how to use them.
Here’s how
Before you can use the many commands and codes, you first need to open the console in the game. This is done with the “~” key. There you can simply enter the commands below and activate your desired effects. However, some effects only become active when you close the console again – also with “~”. Console players are unfortunately out of luck here, as you cannot open a command console there.
The most important ones
| Code | Effect |
|---|---|
| tgm | Activates God Mode. |
| tcl | Activates “No-Clip-Mode”. |
| tfc | Activates free camera. |
| tm | Hides the HUD. |
| tmm 1 | Reveals the map. |
| unlock | Picks a lock. |
| killall | Kills all NPCs in the vicinity. |
| resurrect [ID] | Revives a target. |
| tai | Disables the NPC’s AI. |
| coc qasmoke | Teleports you to a room with all items. |
| coc ufocrashsite01 | Teleports you out of the room again. |
| player.setav carryweight [number] | Increases the carry weight. |
| player.setav [skill] [number] | Increases a skill. |
Manipulate the game world
There are also a few commands that allow you to manipulate the game world, for example to create epic screenshots or videos. We have already listed some of the codes above, but here is some more detailed information about the commands.
- tcl – This disables collision detection, allowing you to walk through walls and objects as you please.
- tfc – This activates the free camera, allowing you to fly around the wasteland and create cool shots.
- tfc 1 – This also activates the free camera, but with the difference that in this case, all animations in the game are frozen.
- tm – This hides the entire HUD. Please note that this also affects the console, and you will need to open the console blindly and type in the command blindly to bring the HUD back.
- set timescale to [number] – This command allows you to manipulate time in the game. The default value is 16 – a lower number slows down time, a higher number speeds it up.
- tmm 1 – This command reveals the entire map and all locations in the game. Use this at your own risk, as it can spoil a few surprises.

There are no restrictions on what is possible. You can add anything in the game to your inventory. To do this, open the console as usual and enter: player.additem [ID] [number]
