The popular Stronghold series is set to enter its fourth installment in 2026, as Firefly has officially announced Stronghold 4!
Five years after Stronghold: Warlords, Stronghold 4 is set to launch in Early Access later this year. Firefly Studios has officially announced this and unveiled the latest installment in the popular Stronghold series. Additionally, a demo for the game is scheduled to be released on Steam this month, specifically on June 23. This marks the fourth installment in the strategy series 25 years after the first game, and it tells a prequel to the first part.
Set long before the events of the very first Stronghold game, we follow the story of Penryn, a simple shepherd whose life is suddenly turned completely upside down. From then on, he embarks on a journey filled with death and daring. The Early Access version of Stronghold 4 is set to include 22 missions from the story campaign as well as a skirmish mode. Online multiplayer, an economic campaign, and a co-op mode are scheduled to follow later in development.
According to official sources, “The game returns to the series’ roots in medieval England.” “It is designed so that you feel the impact of a living medieval world directly on your castle economy and siege tactics as you battle enemy outlaws, rival lords, and the elements themselves.”
“Immerse yourself in the modern graphics and the grim reality of medieval life—from snow hindering the growth of your crops, to heavy rain reducing the range of your archers, to deadly castle traps and fortifications. Danger and destruction can threaten from within as well as from without, so prepare well and adapt as best you can!”
